Inter captain Mauro Icardi stopped by Inter Channel after having scored his 6th Serie A goal of the season, this time from the penalty spot which meant 1-1 away against Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
“We are not happy because we wanted to win, we could have played better, but as things turned out we’ll take the draw. We return home a little bit disappointed. We needed to take advantage of the last 15 minutes of the match. They ran a lot but in the end they pulled back because they grew tired. We should have taken advantage of that towards the end, we could have done something more, but we were unable to. The penalty? They studied me, and how I take them so I decided to shoot it like this. I do not like shooting penalties down the middle but it went in.”
What did you and Palacio talk about?
“He is my friend, I talk to him a lot even in Milano. We did not say anything special to each other.”
Now it is on to Genoa?
“We have to get back to winning at home. In front of our own crowd it will be like having one more player on the pitch. We have to return to giving a great performance to continue our positive streak.”
grow your hair again.. LOL.
And grow some balls to take responsibility in tough tm moments of the game
i think he have balls to take an important penalty for us in this game. but we know that icardi is not a striker that can create a chance by himself. he need support from midfield which almost none in this game. that’s why i always said we have the sign another striker with different quality to compete with icardi. in game like this, imagine if we have a striker like ibra or ronaldo(r9)!? i love icardi. i think he’s one of the best poacher right now. but he need to improve his first touch and his ability to hold the ball.
Well you said it yourself man, he’s a great poacher. Perhaps the best there is. I don’t deny that although many people would classify me as a hater of Icardi because I simply can’t stand when they get him over the moon talking like he is in the level of Ibrahimovic and that class of attackers.
Being a great poacher and a completed striker is quite different. Inzagi of Milan was a poacher, he didn’t have many if any of talent besides being smart and reading the plays well, no physical strength, no technique. He just could sniff the goal. That is something good of course but you can’t rely on that type of strikers. Or build a team around them.
Right now, I see Inter as a team of Perisic more than anybody’s else. One match he wasn’t at his best and look where we ended up.(Perhaps even of Mario but he has to grow a lot, but he sure has his impact when on his good days.)
Because fans get delusional after goals, that’s why they criticize even Handanovic which is just retarded to be honest when you consider he is the most consistent player of Inter being always at his best every match.
And he doesn’t have balls. He tries harder in big matches, players with balls want to win everything possible. Players with balls can’t stand not winning and if this was the case with Icardi we would have been a lot better because he can play like in the game against Juventus last season which I will never forget because he really got me there. But then he just doesn’t seem to care that much in these kinds of matches…
Genuinely I’m sad about Inter that we have to keep hopes in players that don’t actually have balls!
a poacher need total support from their midfield just like inzaghi got from zidane and del piero in rubentus or pirlo, kaka, and sedorf in milan. right now let be honest none of our players reach the level of zidane, del piero, pirlo, kaka, nor sedorf. we surely need our wingers and midfield who can score too, because there would be many game that icardi would be lock down like in this game. if our AM or wingers can score, it would make the opponent difficult to isolating icardi. because they can sense the dangerous from other players too.
in some sense i agree with you we either spend for another striker or another AM..
some people call you icardi hater maybe because sometime you sounds like one.. LOL
i my self one of the people who often critizised him for his off the ball movement(which he improve already). now he need to learn to hold the ball and make more dummy run to open the space for other players.. and that’s what inzaghi great for!! inzaghi was a world class striker, and his off the ball movement was one of the best ever!!
Well the problem is my friend that fans of Inter are considering Icardi to be some Suarez,Benzema,Aguero and all of the world class strikers their are.
And they are actually daring to compare him with our brazilian Ronaldo,Milito, Ibrahimovic and so on.
That’s just retarded, no matter how you look at it.
Inzagi had stats as well, he has close to 70 goals in CL I think but you can’t compare him to Ibrahimovic not even in dreams.
And Icardi is not being locked up by defenders, he just is inconsistent. He has no balls like kofko said, because when he wants to play and give his 110% he can do a terrific job. Despite being labeled as a Icardi hater I give him credit for the skills and potential that he has.
But another thing is that he doesn’t seem to want to fully use it. Because Zanetti didn’t become great by having enormous talent, he just worked harder than everybody in every match and training.
Which Icardi isn’t doing.
A player with the characteristics of Icardi can’t be the main player of a team, not even the main striker because you can’t rely on him. We have drawn so many matches like this just because Icardi was nowhere to be found.
If he really was the calibre almost every fan of Inter is saying he is, he would at least get us very close to a win in each of these matches.
okay i agree with you, some fans maybe overated him a bit. comparing him to ronaldo and ibra are too much for him to handle. LOL..
icardi still young and still can improve his game. but we really need a new striker to compete with him.
You can’t expect Icardi to be Messi or R9. He is very consistent when he gets the ball in the area, his efficiency stats are the best in Europe. Most teams prefer to push the ball to the wings where it’s easier to defend which usually plays to Inter’s strengths. Bologna was smart to lock the wings and our CMs had a bad day especially Mario. Perisic did not have an off game as you suggest, he was covered well and was not given any space. Since Candy and Borja performed badly and our CMs can’t shoot, Icardi turned an easy victim. He was coming deep to help the midfield and did all he could but don’t expect him to dribble 4 players and score.
