Inter great Evaristo Beccalossi spoke to Inter TV, sharing the many memories he has of the Milan derby, “I really understood the importance of the derby when I played in my first one. The pre-match started a week before, and six days after the match it is still being spoken about.”

“For six or seven years we did very well in the derby, losing perhaps only once. I remember one where we were winning 2-0 and we conceded twice despite dominating for 70 odd minutes and drew 2-2,” Beccalossi, who played over 200 games in Serie A for Inter in the last 1970’s and early 1980’s, added.

Beccalossi continued by discussing the best derby goals in his opinion, “Maicon’s goal by the corner of the box, Berti’s perfect hat trick or one of Stankovic’s long range efforts.”

Speaking on present day Inter, Beccalossi concluded, “Inter are on the right track with thanks to Luciano Spalletti. The Nerazzurri have returned to being a group, and now they know that wearing the Inter shirt means reaching the goals set and no less. This year I can see Inter among the top four, but next year it will take the top spot.”
