Inter tried to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe in the summer but their attempts were in vain as the move was vetoed by the French defender personally, French media outlet Le Parisien reveals.

According to the report, the 22-year old French defender declined the offer from the Nerazzurri due to his willingness to stay at the club from the French capital despite not featuring often for the first team due to the high level of comeptition in the middle of defence. Inter had identified Kimpembe as the perfect replacement for Jeison Murillo who was sold to La Liga outfit Valencia int he summer, both for his technical qualities as well as in terms of ability to develop at the club due to his young age.

Kimbempe has come up through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and was promoted to the first team for the 2014/2015 season and has represented the Ligue 1 side on 42 occasions across all competitions but has so far failed to get on the scoresheet.
