Inter remain unbeaten through 16 rounds of Serie A and remain one of very few clubs across Europe to still be undefeated in the league this season.

The current run is by no means Inter’s best and is in fact only half as good as their best ever run of 32 games unbeaten which came in the 2006/07 season, when Inter won their 15th scudetto title.

Corriere dello Sport report that a record well within the Nerazzurri’s sights however is the 17 match unbeaten streak set by Giovanni Trapattoni’s Inter of 1988/89, where they won the scudetto for the 13th time.

Other memorable unbeaten runs include the 20 game run in the 1952-53 season as Inter won the scudetto again. A 26 game streak in both the 2004/05 season and the 2007/08 season.

Four of Inter’s five unbeaten runs that have exceeded 16 games have lead to being crowned champions at the end of the season. Only time will tell whether or not Inter can firstly make it to 17 games unbeaten and secondly go all the way.
