Milano-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter have decided to open talks regarding an extension of Antonio Candreva’s contract with the club.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri want to extend the former Lazio winger’s contract by twelve months which would tie up the Italian international winger with Inter until the end of June 2021. It is reported furthermore that the new deal would see Candreva get a pay rise from the current €2,2 million net per season he is on now to, €2,7 million after taxes. The contract will also not include a minimum release fee clause either for the player who turns 31 in February.

The former Juventus and Udinese player left Lazio to sign for Inter in August 2016 for a reported fee of €22 million including add-ons and has since featured 61 times for the Nerazzurri across all competitions getting on the scoresheet on eight occasions, including twice in the derby della Madonnina against cross town rivals AC Milan.
