Inter owner Jindong Zhang has told Inter technical coordinator Walter Sabatini that he and sporting director Piero Ausilio will not be afforded any more funds than what they have at the moment FCInterNews.it detail.
Moreover, Zhang has told Inter’s mercato men to rely upon low cost transfers, particularly when it comes to shoring up the defence.
This has lead Sabatini to turn toward former Inter defender Rolando. The Portuguese defender has just six months remaining on his deal with Marseille and Sabatini could look to make the most of his good relationship with L’OM boss Rudi Garcia, who he worked with at Roma. Moreover, Domenico Criscito, who was linked in the summer and last winter too, is an option due to him also having an expiring contract.
Lyon’s Mapou Yanga Mbiwa is another option available to the Nerazzurri, who could request the Frenchman on a loan basis. Also, Ausilio has been in contact with his opposite number at Sassuolo over Francesco Acerbi but a deal for the former Milan man is difficult to achieve due to his contract renewal a few months back.
Despite being told no initiially and unwilling to just turn right toward the low cost options, Sabatini will return to Zhang and try to convince him in to releasing some more funds.
In my opinion it’s not the fact inter Milan need to go and spend millions on new players it’s the fact inter need to look far and wide for players who can do a better job and play more consistantly than the players we currently have especially in midfield to supply Icardi and in central defence because there are lots of very talented players in different parts of the world who would love to be given the opportunity to prove they are talented and show the world how good they are,,it is the job of our recruitment staff and talent scouts to go around the world and identify these talented players before Barca or real do,,,there are many talented players playing in many different leagues all around the world that would not cost heaps of money but would play there hearts out to show they have talent so please let our recruitment staff search far and wide for new talent and forget about over paid divas,,,,,
coutinho was sold yesterday for 160m flat . let that sink in intersitas ! that’s a lot of money just think about it
Strama: ‘Inter had to sell Coutinho’
Andrea Stramaccioni reveals what prompted Inter to sell Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool for €13m five years ago. “We had to balance the books.”
The Brazilian found fame at San Siro as a very young man, leaving for Anfield in January 2013, but only five years later completed a transfer worth at least €120m to Barcelona.
“I am not surprised by Coutinho’s move, as Phil has improved a lot in the Premier League, and above all playing for Brazil, so he deserved a top club,” former Inter Coach Stramaccioni told Panorama magazine.
“He was able to work on his weaknesses and go for goal more, while also working off the ball. Phil had made his debut at Inter under Rafa Benitez and was a protagonist of my team.
“Coutinho started really well, but Wesley Sneijder was in his position, so obviously there was a lot of competition for playing time. His evolution was already in progress.
“The offer from Liverpool was hard to resist and his desire to go to
England proved decisive. It was a difficult moment and Cou was one of the few young prospects we had with such a high value on the market.
“We needed to balance the books and his sale was followed by Sneijder’s departure. I understood and respected the decision made by (then-directors) Marco Branca and Piero Ausilio, albeit with a heavy heart.
“Nobody was happy with his sale, because we could tell even then he had enormous potential. I am still in contact with Philippe, as he always was and still is an exceptional lad. Along with his technical quality, he has remarkable humility and a great work ethic.
“He has a wonderful girl by his side who grew up with him and helped him remain the same boy he was in Brazil. That helped his enormous talent on the field to develop fully.”
What a bad situation we are in
Just sell Brozovic and Jao Mario and Gabigol and get us 70 millions and buy Vidal or some serious gladiator in midfield, because we will lose our CL qualifying spot.
And they called the training center suning for their shitty investment.
No club in the world who want spend 70m € for 3 mediocre player.. for 45-50 all of them we must sell asap
And interiscoming to uefa league.. maybe spall can make magic with all this player… don’t blame the players because this is max limits. You can’t change brozo to be ozil or gagliardini to be pogba. Sunning is a big bullshit
Reza Shah Pahlavi was the Shah of Iran (Persia) from 15 December 1925 until he was forced to abdicate by the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran on 16 September 1941.
And i have friend with name ayathullah khomeni
no wonder !!
I’m only joking, don’t take it seriously, my inter friend ;-))
That’s really funny! I really don’t understand the applied FFP on the club compared to others. At first FFB was to be abided by end of June. Spalleti was promised and then everything was faded because of the new ‘ Chinese government block’ on inter transfer policy – if it used to exist-
Now again shortage of money and they are asking the team to fight for champions league spot compared to others having full bench.
Now also came the news of Icardi having Madrid’s medical. How funny to hear this…
Can’t understand that policy for team fighting for champions league spot!!!!!
Forza Spaletti- Forza Inter!
earlier I wrote that chinese want to take big money on icardi … it is coming inevitably !
Media bulls**t!
No one really knows what Sabatini is talking with Zhang about and what Zhang´s respons was. But the only certain thing is that by the 30th of June we need to have a balanced budget meaning we can’t go on a spending spree now in January, and the idea of making extra budget now to by players with, is also totally unrealistic for the same reasons!
Suning has shit loads of money but the rules of the agreement Thohir made with Uefa some 3 years ago are clear and means we can’t spend too much and have to have a balanced budget both in 2017, 2018 and I guess in 2019 too… By then Suning should be free to make their own agreement with Uefa and be free to spend. But now we need to make money first by selling players, qualifying to the Cl, sponsorship deals etc before spending!
agreed, promoting player from our academy is far better than buying cheap ass quality player i hope spalleti do this instead
Hmm.. our youth team players are not the answer to drive the team forward and into the CL. We need players with experience from playing in Serie A and on the big stage not teenagers that have been playing in front of 250 people at the Stadio Breda!
If Ausilio and Saba can strike some loan deals this January it would be great!
And that means Goodbye UCL…
We need wealthy Americans to take over like steinbrenner family that owns the Yankees, fuck Arabs.
o.k., but surely someone ready to spend MONEY on inter !
True. Americans know business unlike Arabs. They make team’s prosper. Just look at their shittiest teams and see how wealthy they are.
I still Prefer Arab investor, Roma own by america and they just sold their star due to FFP?! Liverpool own by america yet they don’t win anything at all. We’re Inter, prestigeous FC with Long Histroy therefore our Pride is Priceless. What we need is Money to get Glory. Business management, self finance, or etc will follow as long as we got trophy therefore Arab investor is better than now.
now it really depend on how we maximize on selling.
not our best forte, speaking from experience. -___-“
when they force selling players,
do chinese prepare us for selling icardi in summer ???
— Zhang has told Inter’s mercato men to rely upon low cost transfers,—
chinese are persistent in making inter and its fans … idiots ! they only came to inter to take adventage of the club for making new business connections in eu, but not to improve inter situation. FUCK YOU CHINESE !
we need wealthy arabs to take over inter from hands of those cunning chinese cheaters !!
I have been telling that suning are only here to expose their brand to Europe, nothing more. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just sell inter when they get enough exposure. Inter is just a toy for these frauds.
absolutely, and who cannot see that is, unfortunately totally blind.
Oughh, shoot!!!
What a terible fuuking chinese
Well maybe we should judge upon the end of the winter window. Zhang shows genuine interest in Inter on day—to-day basis and Sunning wants to make Inter healthy by respecting FFP as part of the business plan. Of course they need to invest to secure the CL spot, but maybe they will do so by adding Ramires, Bastoni and making some deal that brings us Delafou (spell?).
I would LOVE Pastore too, but as fans we must also respect the balance between wishes and the management of the club as a whole. The aim should be to secure squad depth, get some top 4 spot (which I think is realistic with a few reinforcements) and then show spending power in the summer, where it is possible to do so.
respecting FFP as part of the business plan ——— you mean buying dembele, couthino for 150+150 mill = 300mill in six months, should I add and paulinho, etc. ?
… as fans we must also respect the balance between wishes and the management of the club as a whole. — ?!?
My friend, I am not talkinig about Barca, City or PSG. What they do, and how it will effect them, is not my concern. Sunning have responsibilities to the deal they accepted and the terms they have agreed – regarding both club and FFP.
So add whoever you like, it’s not us you are debating.
And yes. As fans we can dream of Messi, Kroos or Pastore. But! We need to accept that it is a business and not fantasy football. So, no matter who we would like, we need to accept the situation of the business aspect. Not just add players to our most wanted line up.
I really can’t say if your “?!?” response is from a lack of understanding or as a spite to the comment?
Well, Søren.. As u are mentioning the business aspects, you might actually look at the dimensions considered in such an approach.. what is the revenue loss if Inter fail to qualify for UCL? What is the brand deterioration without having profiles in the team. Inter is in entertainment Søren, if you dont entertain, or not even represented on the UCL stage, u really dont live up to your business model at all, do u.. Furthermore, try to calculate Economic profit through (return on capital-cost of capital) with no UCL income (to simplify) Would a 100,000 mill present value investment be positive or negative for the bottom line if the probability of yet a failed season is an option without additional investment? These are a few simplistic “business aspects,” and FFP is surely not carved in stone.. if u have additional revenue, as a result of investments, they couldnt care less. All they want is that Inter give them a plan for how to break even.. “as they just rejected such a plan for AC milan”
Dude, FFP is not carved in stone, but here are the rules for you. Or at least these were the rules last summer and I kind of guess those are the rules also this summer.
“If they (Inter) fail to break even, they will be fined €7 million by UEFA, and if they post a loss of more than €10 million then this would necessitate them renegotiating the Financial Fair Play settlement agreement. Further sanctions would be imposed, and would be agreed with UEFA during the renegotiation.”
In case of FFP violation do you think negotiating a new better settlement will be easy and UEFA will give the club good terms? Or would it just be better to honor this old Thorir´s settlement and after that negotiate a new one in good terms with UEFA?
For future reference, if u want to quote rules, you are better served by giving a link to the primary source.. that being said.. a petty fine for breaking the rules… who cares? Lets look at a simple scenario.. If new players/good results can add to the fanbase.. lets say 10mill new sweaty chinamen support inter next year as a result of good results, popular players etc..then is the ffp fine worth it or not? for reference.. what do u think mbappe & neimar did to PSG`s income statement? suddenly they went from being a small brand to “coca cola” size brand.. Their future potential income base is huge.. If we again simplify.. and say: 10,000,000 fans are exposed to 100 euro worth of commercials per head.. that equals 100 mill in revenue..
Yeah the quote, I would have given you a link, but if I do that this ingeniously designed Sempre site will put my comment pending and might not publish it at all. It was actually a quote from Calcio & Finanza article that was released last March with a title “Inter must find €30 million to avoid further Financial Fair Play sanctions”. Google it if you want. I consider them a quite reliable source and in that article they predicted our last summers struggles with the FFP almost spot on.
The fine is petty, but having to renegotiate that settlement after breaking the old settlement is the bigger penalty. That most likely means worse terms for the next settlement on our club for next 3-4 years. Then if you continue to break the rules there will be more punishments like not being able to enter the CL competition for example. I understand your business model, but all I´m saying is FFP makes things less straight forward and easy as you present them.
The club has now followed through two and a half years of a three year settlement, which was btw made because of a violation of FFP rules. Why mess everything up now? We are half a year away from getting more favorable terms from UEFA. Buying some new players during winter market does no way guarantee the CL spot.
I wouldn´t consider PSG as a reference point. PSG is a state owned club that is able to get huge sponsorship deals from Arab companies. That club is able to circumvent the FFP with its “money doping” and has almost infinite resources. But yes, you are right that Neymar and Mbappe have made their brand and fanbase a lot bigger.
Ill not argue FFP and compliance, because no one cares.. no one ever got anything problems from FFP, nor will i discuss PSG further.. However.. I will say this: Inter can either be a small shitty club fighting for scraps and selling anyone with talent once we can get some petty money for it.. Or we can compete with the big boys.. either u are a player or not.. its that simple.. A leading club buys champions.. and breeds talent.. it does not buy second hand gimps from Nice or Atlanta.. look at our team that won the UCL, league & cup. Look for your Nagatomo or Gag or eder there.. u will not find it.. because it was a team built of champions, who had proven themselves elsewhere before they got the honour of playing for inter. Buying champions cost big money, but they generate big money. Ronaldo & Vieri alone probably generated a whole generation of fans for inter back in the days.. What kind of dumb kids wants to follow inter with the current lineup.. Kids idolise champions.. not mediocrity And without growing our fan-base in proportion with other clubs, we will fall behind and become the obsolete in a couple of years.
Surely we ain´t gaining many fans right now, maybe few from China, but that´t all. But Suning and their approach is all we got right now and we´ve just gotta live with that for now. At very best I see them getting as big as Juve and that would be a surprise for me.
But I´ll still say one thing about FFP. That freaking system is designed exactly against the kind of risky investment you are suggesting. If you start doing it with no revenue you will get penalty after penalty. They don´t want that kind of thing at UEFA. You won´t be buying Neymar´s and Mbappe´s just with CL money. I don´t understand why the owner of the club is not allowed to just cover the losses with money injections. I don´t like the FFP, the old football world was just fine for over 100 years before it was introduced and I hope UEFA will make the system a lot less strict or just abolish it.
Man, I have already written a f-ing long response, but it is waiting for approval or something? I hope it will get here soon.. If not, i will write it (agian) tomorrow.. Anybody who has tried something like this? Post not being shown?
Edit: I did use a not so polite word, but in a common context? Can that be the reason?
If you insert a link to go with your comment they will put it pending. And using some words will also have the same effect, although shit and fuck are allowed these days, haha. I liked the old sempre site so much better.
Haha, really??
I wrote something like: “not to sound like a d*ck, but….”
Guess that is too much, but all the racial stuff about calling out chines and arabs ar a-okay 😉
Will agrre about old site 😀
I can help answer all those questions for you: what is the revenue loss if Inter fail to qualify for UCL? well the answer is simple, you have not qualified for UCL for what 7 years now so you need to focus on Coppa Italia, Serie A and once every 2 years on Europa league revenues when considering whether inter makes a profit and UCL is just a bonus if you make it because after 7 years of no UCL soccer you can’t really consider yourself hopeful to receive that revenue right !
What is the brand deterioration without having profiles in the team? Ask any 5-7 year old in Italy who is Inter and they will say they are known for the following: choking when the temperature dips below zero, overpaid and useless acquisitions, signing the year’s bidone d’oro, no bench players, blaming the coach for Ausilio’s poor work, blaming refs for no PK’s…inter fans favorite saying “wait until next year…”
Furthermore, try to calculate Economic profit…let’s use Gabi-one-Gol. Paid 30 mill with a 2.9 mill a season salary (after tax) wait a sec this is an Economic LOSS because he’s WORTHLESS !! But wait, watch the competition get Khedira, Pirlo, Vidal, Pogba, Koman, Marchisio and Barzagli for a combined transfer fee of 12 million euros………for a combined Economic profit of 120 million euros…..
Would a 100,000 mill present value investment be positive or negative
for the bottom line if the probability of yet a failed season is an
option without additional investment? well let add inter’s acquisition of 30 mill for Gabi-one-Gol + 40 mill for Kondogbia + 45 mill for JM = 115 million….clearly this is a negative investment because none of the 3 players can find a starting role on a team that finished 7th place in the 4th best league in Europe so it’s pretty pathetic to say the least…….
You want Inter to breakeven ? HOW !! this team is a money pit…..a continuous loser of money. if you want it to be profitable you have to turn inter into the next atalanta and focus on youth and let’s face it….inter youth sucks !!!
Unfortunately u fail to grasp the very fundamentals of finance, even logic. I wish u good luck in life, as u clearly need it.
You can explain finance to Ausilio because he blew 115 million on 3 pieces of junk that can’t make their wait into the starting lineup of a team that finished 7th place last season in the 4th best league in Europe !!
semedo also 30m
thanks 😉
Splashing big money on players during January window is notoriously risky. Those guys have adapt to the team and/or might not work out for some reason or another.
And if they splash a lot now and on top of that don´t make it to CL the end result will be really bad. They have to break even come July, which seems to be hard even in current situation. I read somewhere (probably calcio&finanza) that the CL money from this seasons qualification most likely cannot be counted to the 2017/2018 balance sheet anyways, so Inter will end up massively on red even with the CL qualification if they start splashing money this winter.
I don´t blame Suning for a deal with Uefa that Thorir made. We don´t know how hard the repercussions will be if Inter fails to honor that deal, so it´s very hard to judge how wise or unwise it is to respect it. At this point we´ll just have to hope we get those good loan deals like Deulofeu, Pastore etc.
Exactly. I believe we can solve the puzzle and reach CL, with clever signings and loan options (preferably without any obligations, if we could do so).
I was not aware that we might end up in red even with tickets to CL. Hope that is just a rumor! But as we have shown EUFA our determination to respect their rules, I see no point in stopping now.
Yeap, it would be a weird decision to break the bank now after following the rules for such a long time, If they spend now, let´s say 20-30mil, they´ll have to sell players at least for that sum before July. And we all know how hard and that is after last season. Banega had to be sold for bargain price 9 millions and so on.
It´s very hard to say about the clubs financial situation and how much money they have to come up with before July, because I haven´t seen anywhere anything but guesses about how much money has to be raised. Something like 50-60 millions have been reported at some medias. Selling Kondo (if Valencia buys him) will probably help and then there are the sponsorship and prize money from Serie A etc.
It would actually be quite logical that the CL qualification money (or most of it) cannot be added to this seasons revenue, but I cannot be 100% sure about that. I kind of expect a painful June which will resemble something like last year – that´s because they have to find 30 millions more revenues somewhere to compared to last season without EL money. Hopefully they can come up with a lot more sponsorship money or something. But again, very hard find reliable numbers from the media and probably Inter directors are the only ones who know the exact situation, so it´s all mostly guessing at this point.
True, Arabs are gangsters and don’t care about their money because they get it unlimited from the oil well, the Chinese calculate it to the science
