According to Tuttosport, Inter could turn their attention towards Mateo Kovačić should their pursuit of Jiangsu Suning midfielder Ramires end in failure.

I thought about that as well but problem if that I don’t see Joao Mario breaking into Real’s starting eleven given that they already have a packed midfield which means that his value will only drop further. So would prefer we found a separate option for Joao Mario and ideally Brozovic as well and then got Kovacic over for 6-months with an option to buy as I don’t think Real would be closed to that idea despite the article implying otherwise.
Ramires adds more of a goal scoring threat but feel that Kovacic probably will link up better and quicker with the team so a better bet for a 6-month loan. Plus I still have hope that we can land Pastore for the number 10 role, particularly if we find a way to make some of the rumored sales.
I would rather take Kovacic for 6 months only even though it would hurt to see him go again rather than a finished player like Ramires who turns 31 in March permanently !!

Which was in 2012 meaning 6 years from now, and he’s about to be 31 years old in March.
He also went to China when only 28, serious players that care for achieving major successes don’t really do that you know until they get at least like 33 years old or more. And he only had a few good years.
In the last 2 seasons with Chelsea he wasn’t a regular starter as well. He’s mediocre right now in a way or another!
And he had a major injury, and he was NEVER technically gifted. His physicality was his only good trait and that could well be gone down the drain.
