Inter’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio stopped by Premium Sport for his traditional pre-match interview ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash between Inter and AS Roma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
Ausilio began by analyzing the match and its importance in finishing in the top 4 saying: “I will onyl talk about tonight’s match. Tonight we restart, we’ve lived through a difficult period but we are still on course to achieving the goals we set out in the beginning of the season. This match is valuable but not decisive, other matches will be decisive.
“The break has been a bit special, we have onyl worked for a week. We were playign for a long run maybe it was important to take a break. The most important thing was to demonstrate that Inter with this new project could transmit a winning mentality in the long run, that is up until December. However, we played one of the best halves we have this season against Udinese and we missed a penalty against Sassuolo. We were winnign against Fiorentina absurdly but we dropped in the end. Spalletti has prepared everything for tonight and it couldn’t have been any different” Ausilio stated.
In conclusion he was asked about the club’s continued dealings on the transfer window as well as the Rafinha negotiations saying: “The transfer window is unpredictable, we could end up staying with this squad. No-one has asked us to leave, we don’t want to let our best players leave but we remain attentive for opportunities like the one which brought us Lisandro Lopez. Rafinha was difficult because Barcelona did not want to let him leave other than on a dry loan. But we are Inter we can’t work for the good of others, we worked on the redemption clause prior to wrapping up the deal. We like to work on players that can stay at Inter in the future as well, if not then we aren’t interested.”
Never understood why he “flopped” …he never had that bad game where I was like “Damn…you really suck” …I’ve seen each player on the team have a bad string of games but is he really that bad? Why hasn’t anyone come out to explain why he doesn’t play…I think they’re just cowards because he’s a high risk high reward kinda player and they rather a player like eder…a workhorse who can guarantee a certain type of performance.People may bash me but we didn’t buy the wrong Gabriel…I’m so sure if he went to city with pep and just given a run to express himself then things would be different.Just put him on the field we have no AMC …what’s the worst that can happen? Because right now it’s pretty bad.
I agree with you. inter spread many rumors about him to justify its failure in gabi-case.
another mistery to me is what happened in benfica, for God’s sake ?!?!
I belived it was an ideal chance for him, but,… what happened ?!?!
I guess he finds his good form in santos and later comes back to europe, but not to inter. hge is verty young, but has no time to waist in a club that doesn’t want him.
“We were playign for a long run” wait, are we playing in 3 competitions? We played 2 games a week? What am I missing, here? We played less game, than the top serie A club.
musavie, how dare you ask real and difficult questions ?!?
not in inter !!!
Nabil Fekir 2-1 PSG.
He’s typical AMC/SS that i really wanna be here. In case Fekir has equal transfer amount with Chiesa, I wish our ds would be wise..
Yup Fekirr damn he is soo goodd
Well I am not in the favor of players joining in January from other leagues. Especially who are unfit or bechn warmers at their previous clubs.
Take a look at Podolski and Shaqiri. Everyone thought they will drag us to CL.
On the other hand a loan wouldnt be too bad if he can help Inter qualify for CL, same way Deu helped BBilan qualify for Europa.
Anyone who have thought this tought: for the 35 mil we´re going to pay for Rafinha we could have gotten Strootman who has the same release in his contract and who would have been an awesome upgrade to our midfield?
He wouldn’t join Inter I think, and we don’t have the money..
We have the money; that´s my point right there. We´re going to spend the same amount on Rafinha (if he does well and we make it to the CL next summer) as we could have on Strootman who has a 35 mil release clause in his contract.
And why shouldn’t Strooty wanna join us? ROma is being turned into a selling club because of their financials problems. Players like Naingolan, Dzeko and Palmeires (the left back) are being rumored to be on their way out, so where does that leave Roma?
No, we don’t have the money right now. We could spend this amount next summer after the financial year is over and IF we qualify for the UCL. Inter could very well choose to spend the money on Strootman and ship Rafinha back. But Roma would never let him go on loan to a direct competitor in the middle of the season. That’s why
How can u be so sure that Rafinha wont do good??
I can’t and I din’t say so either. I hope he will be an upgrade to either Gagliardini or as the attacking midfielder we so badly need, but he hasn’t played since April, so the Ranfinha from Youtube is not the player we get – I fear!
Rafinha doesn’t deserve 35 millions, when he’s not playing since eight months or something and he always was substitute player in Barcelona. But if you ask me even Cancelo, how was very good for us recently, doesn’t deserve the 35 millions Valencia ask for him. The difference between Rafinha and Strootman is, that the dutch can’t play as trequrtista, he can be Gagliardini substitute.
In today’s transfer market 35 mil is a lot but not too much. Can’t say I know Ranfinha much but a player who hasn’t played since April can’t be an upgrade to any team if you ask me. Hopefully he knows how to play as an attacking mid because no one else in this team does!
As for Cancelo, he´s young, 23 years old, and surely has the potential to become world class I believe! He´s fast, technically superb, has some great crosses (damn you Eder for not scoring on one of them yesterday) and is okay defensively! He´s worth the money especially because Kondogbia will go the other way in the deal.!
The difference is time factor. We could obtain Rafinha on free loan right now in the hope he could fill our creativity need on attack to maintain CL spot. In other hand, we could only pay Strootman release clause probably on the upcoming mercato.
I know. Still, seeing Roma is turning into a selling club because of their bad finances which saw Uefa reject their FFP budget for this season, maybe could have opened a door for us to take Strootman on loan with an option to buy next summer.
He surely would take us to the next level if he were to arrive and play next to Vecino in stead of Gagliardini!
In order to fix their finances Roma needs to sell, not loan. FFP counts only the money that come in before the end of June, not future income
Maybe we could loan the player now and pay before July that way they get their money for the books
Then, we won’t be able to balance our books for FFP and will be forced to sell in June. Remember the Perisic saga last summer?
If we force West Ham to pay up for Mario before the end of June it could work
How do you force them? We’d be lucky if they buy him at all. And as we saw last year, when clubs Know you’re forced to sell, they try to buy your players cheap
