It has been widely reported by various sources that Inter and West Ham have come to an agreement over the loaning of midfielder Joao Mario.
The Portuguese midfielder is to initially join the Premier League side on loan at a cost of €1.5 million with an option for them to turn the move permanent should they wish.
Corriere dello Sport report that the redemption fee has been set at €35 million which still ultimately means Inter make a loss on the 25-year-old but not as substantial a loss as earlier reports suggested they would have.
The Euro 2016 champion joined the Nerazzurri 18 months ago, soon after playing a crucial part in his nations success at the tournament held in France. He joined in a near club record deal worth €40 million but has ultimately failed to live up to his price tag or regularly showcase the form he showed that led to Inter purchasing him in the first place.
So …it looks like we did get rid of Bambi for now.
Bambi does England.
I don’t dislike him .
He was NOT a 45 millions player , not even close , if anything just for the fact that he can’t shoot for shit …
also he seemed to lack guts, he was not “bad ” enough.
..but he is a good 20-25 millions quality player after all that I would have used as a central midfielder , back there to begin the play and help the quality of the general ball play from its inception , never as a winger or 3/4tista , but that’s me .
Also by now he was someone who just didn’t “feel ” our team and environment anymore, so at least loaning him away if you really cannot sell him for a good price , was a good idea for both parts ,him and us..
His departure opens up a little more financial space .
Does it mean someone else is coming in the next 4 / 5 days ?
I would say yes, definitely .
I bet so.
Some loan or something they are going to scrape up , somehow.
Maybe even a good one , who knows , Sabatini at times can surprise you in the best sense of the word.
If we just had some money and we could actually buy someone and not just loan , I would just take that Deulofeu for 20 m . option .
Maybe offering a little more delayed payment ,something like a 3 years , 8+8+4.
8 millions in the next balance sheets shouldn’t be that bad ,even in our situation.
But If it was really possible. to spend a little more then I would go all in for that 25 millions clause of Torreira.
That’s my ” realistic dream “.
agree with deulefeu, he should be our first winter mercato instead of rafinha
With deulefou, ther’s a big IF…
35m fee after 18 months is a good deal. Adding future sale clause would be more and more awesome!
IF they want to buy him.
There is no obligation.
For now is just another loan , like Biabiany or Gabigol ,all coming back in our balance sheets at the end of the season.
The reality is that West Ham will give us 35 m only if he does NOT just pretty good but wonderfully in Premier League.
The positive thing is Portugal has been qualified for next World Cup. I expect JM would do everything to save his spot on national. His success may add more money on our coffer. #crossfingers
Assuming the deal goes through, “Moishe” will have to do some re-structuring on Mario’s playing style.
I’d like to see him adopting a more central role-he seems to wander out to the flanks, where he loses some of his potential effectiveness. Similar situation to Lanzini: Lanzini is so potent starting from a central position, rather than playing as a winger.
