Italian media outlet Sky Sport Italia reports that Inter are on the verge of signing Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez from Argeninian club Racing Avellanada where a certain Diego Milito is now the Sporting Director.
According to the report the Nerazzurri are going head to head with La Liga side Atletico Madrid coached by another former Argentinian Inter player, namely Diego Simeone. This is why, Sky Sport Italia reports, Inter have involved Vice-President Javier Zanetti, who directly involved in the negotiations. The Nerazzurri hope that this way they will be able to gain some advantage over El Cholo and his Colchoneros from the Spanish capital given the close relationship the former Inter captain has with the treble hero, Milito.
Furthermore, Sky reports, that Inter have made an offer to Racing of €12 million with add-ons to block the player from being signed from another club and loan him back to Racing where he will stay until the end of the Serie A season in June at which point he will move to Italy.
He is an extremely good talent that can play up top and on the wings.
interesting move. it looks like Icardi is leaving. only thing is we would make only 110m which is very small money in present scenario. we virtually need to change the whole squad barring Handanovic, Skrinier & Miranda. how we will do that is going to be a big question.
Lol like we play young players, he will keep the bench warm until he leaves and we all call him a flop when he doesnt play a single game or he plays the last 5 minutes and people say he doesnt have any skill and then he will be loaned with an option to buy and then we will buy another young player and repeat, same crap different day
icardi was very young when he came and become starter here. skriniar is another youngster to play regularly now. cancelo start to find his place in the team. if they’re good enough they will play. and martinez is most likely to be icardi’s sub. so he’s for our bench. at least for this season.
See that’s the thing…not all players have the same development curve…you as a club must be able to develop players into the finished article..yeah sure some youngsters find their feet quickly but let’s not forget that Icardi was already playing for samp and so was skrin so those aren’t really players that we developed per say..just riding on their gifted talents…this season is the only season that I can see Icardi making noticeable improvements in his game and I think that’s largely down to spaletti while Skriniar is just a freak truly a once in a lifetime player.Hope we can keep hold of both of them though.
the thing is every transfer move have it’s risk. we don’t know what martinez would become in the future. he can be the next big thing, he can be a flop. if he only cost us 12 m now, i rather take the risk.
They are buying this guy for him to just sit there as a benchwarmer. I am sure he won’t get any playing time and will be loaned out eventually.
i hope not, i think this guy is real deal.
This is funny, Suddenly we have money to buy a player that we dont needed
does not know the guy but if he is a striker that can creat we sure as hell need him! with candreva and perishit at this form and a non-existing attacking midfield, icardi is a burden, like playing with 10 men.
It was stated in the article, that after buying the player inter plan to loan him, not to use him
Don’t trust any news until they are happened
Seems like a smart move, especially if it`s for €12m + bonuses. Starting this summer we will probably not be under FFP supervision, so don`t worry about that. In today`s inflated market [reportedly with 33%], that`s a steal for a talent.
Sturridge and Deloufeu were smokesreens for Martinez and Pastore. All hail Sabatini!
Pastore started the game 2night (was subbed off at half-time)…
Doesn’t smell good for us…
now inter just must not be mad and kill yet another talented player.
if treated the rigt way he could become a valuable player.
let’s hope inter learned the lessons well
12m + bonuses would be a steal in today`s inflated market, but somewhere else I read 15m+bonuses.
Smart move. Then he is available for Simeone at Inter in july. 😉
Don’t want Simeone at Inter. His style of play is horrible to watch.
Compared to our track record of beautiful ball the last 5 years?
At least Diego’s team fight and have shitloads of attitude! I like the style to be honest.
And that’s our problem, Spalletti is the only coach known for playing football that we’ve had since maybe Leonardo. De Bóer is basic AND shall not be discussed.
I don’t hate him, but Atlético could and should be doing much more with the talent at their disposal.
Nope, they can’t do any better without Simeone at the helm
They can do much better. Cholo’s negative tactics have been found out. They have an insanely talented squad in all positions. Koke and Saúl not the least of them.
But dont forget who developed these players into champions! You dont see Atletico splashing out cash like Real and Barcelona but instead they have many home grown players who are the backbone of the team. Players like Torres, Partey, Koke, Gabi and Saul are home grown. Simeone plays a vitale role in this!
I agree he’s a great motivator, and he more or less gives opportunity to younger players. But his playing style undermines their natural talent. A squad like that should be controlling games. Koke is quite possibly the top 3 if not the best Spanish midfielder out now, but he has him playing like a workhorse.
And it’s because of Diego why Koke and Saul get playing time and improve in such a challenging environment such as champions league. Both of them very much could have different path if they play under different coach or different club. How Diego trusting these young player and still delivering result is what we’ve been missed for a long long time.
I don’t necessarily agree with Ath. Madrids style of play. I am fairly impressed with his leadership and motivation. In fact, I would love to see just that at our bench. I am not saying that Spaletti doesn’t have that, but when he talks to the media, he tend to give the team “not working hard enough or not making progress” the blame instead of looking at his own actions. And that annoys me a bit.
But! I agree with you: He is our best chance to play some pretty ball in a while! …But I would prefer winning 😉
Same here..i hope we go for sarri if spal failed
Get rid of that playboy guy and his super agent, and replace him with Lautaro Martinez
He scores 60% of the team goals. The thing I worried abt is how the board is gonna spend 110m if we sell him. Given the history, Gabigol+Kondogbia+Joao Mario = 110m. Imagine we sign 2 mediocre strikers to replace him, like how milan signed Kalinic and Andre Silva.
sell Icardi >110 million euro and get Belotti and De Vrij..don’t buy mediocre player..
If his new contract is true then we will get more than just 110m for sure. And if we can really get that amount of money I prefer to sell him so we can be completely free from ffp. Then you can trust Sabatini for the rest of that money to sign some good player to cover whole position.
