Spalletti tried to change things around by starting Rafinha but Inter’s first half display was dismal and gave Benevento some hope. However the doom and gloom was lifted temporarily by a goal from a corner that was headed in by Milan Skriniar. Andrea Ranocchia headed another one in 3 minutess later as Inter jumped up to the third spot in the Serie A ahead of today’s fixtures.
Samir Handanovic – 6: Benevento had one shot on target and he did well. He was wide awake on crosses and backpasses today. Much better than last weekend.
Joao Cancelo – 5.5: Too indecisive with the ball, does nothing or does too much and gives it away. Not much work to do defensively, good set pieces tonight.
Milan Skriniar – 7: If Skriniar stays at Inter long enough, he will carve his name amongst the legends here. Leader, fighter, one man army. What a time to score!
Andrea Ranocchia – 5.5: This week Andrea scored in the right goal, however he was clumsy all night and could have given away a penalty. His long passes made everyone uncomfortable.
Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5: Not a left back. Not a single decent run or combination with Perisic. If he’s not playing on the right, he shouldn’t play at all.
Roberto Gagliardini – 5.5: First half was horriffic. It seemed he forgot how to play football. Like Vecino he improved incredibly after the interval. Long way to go though.
Matias Vecino – 5.5: Exactly like his midfield partner, too many wayward passes and too few attacking runs. Turned it around in the second half which is something positive.
Antonio Candreva – 4.5: Poor touches, too slow on the ball. Ran offside too many times. His cameo as a trequarterista was much better. Shouldn’t have started.
Rafinha – 5.5: Rafinha couldn’t get involved in the game at all. Maybe it was his fitness but mostly it was his team-mates who just couldn’t help him, even just a little bit.
Ivan Perisic – 5: Full of running. Gave a lot of help defensively, but what we want to see are his goals and assists. Had just one chance to score and received no help from D’Ambrosio when going forward.
Eder – 5: Eder “Candreva’d” tonight. Got everything wrong. Played better after Inter scored but was still missing where it mattered. Goes down too easily.
Yann Karamoh – 6: A breath of fresh air on the right wing. He and Cancelo seemed to have developed a better understanding than Candreva and Danilo D’Ambrosio. Belongs in the starting 11.
Marcelo Brozovic – N/A: Booed and jeered when he came on. The less said about the smirk the better. His relationship with the fans might be beyond repair.
Luciano Spalletti – 5: Worst 1st half of the season considering that the opponents occupy 20th place in the league. Why does this Candreva start? Why does Danilo D’Ambrosio play on the left hand side of defence?
Luca Pairetto – 5: Some might argue he was too lenient on the penalty call. Missed cards on Gagliardini too. Gave away too many minor free kicks and missed some clear ones.
Inter – 5: A win that might help them work calmly during the week. But that first half performance sticks out like a sore thumb. Need to repair what is broken before next week’s derby.
Does Candreva deserve to start in the derby? What can be done about the situation with Brozovic? Should Karamoh start every match from now on? Is Rafinha’s best used when he comes on as an impact sub?

Danilo was a LB at torino and could play rb.
I would have liked to see a vameo from Pinamonti. he should have been brought on when we were leading by 2 goals. we should give him some playing time
This is what i think, if benevento had better attackers we would of got killed by them everytime they faced handa they shot straight at handa , we were fortunate to face amateurs
would be different if it was Cutrone then..
anyone that could shoot these amateurs straight shot at handa every time, they didnt know u have to hit the corner of the goal fortunate for us
If only our players had balls, there would have been some optimism for the derby
And Mr Spalletti please don’t play gaglia and vecino together !
And Dumb on the left, and Candreva at anywhere at all
DIsaster, shame…
for all the guys saying we should have retained Laxalt, he was very mediocre against Bologna. These guys are ok when they can sit back and break but for big clubs (with the exception of Athletico Madrid) the fans will not accept this and force them to attack. Cancelo made mistakes on saturday night but at least he tried – as Jack Nicholson said in the cookoos nest 🙂
The sad thing is, likes of Cancelo, Karamoh and Dalbert will go to the bench for just one average game, but Candreva and Dumb start the games regardless of what they do week after week.
Numerous thumbs up.
I swear the reason they always play is because they are Italian
Absolutely
I hope one day inter’s coach believe in youth player
Look at Milan. The youngsters killed Roma. For Spalletti young players do not have experience… what’s the point of having primavera….
the point of having primavera is to use them as a part of trading, buying mediocre one season players from middle table team.
Why spalleti didn’t give pinamonti to enter the pitch at 80’? At least it can boost his confidance.
A.c. Milan have woken up ffs man’s beating roma 2 nil is a big win, hopefully inter have more grinta to shove down there throats next week
Inter need to win that game. First off b/c fuck Milan and also Lazio are playing Juve and Napoli are playing Roma. High chance Lazio and Roma will drop points. Inter need to take advantage
or milan would take the advantage to get closer to the CL spot.. Oh no!
We always fail in those times
We need a Lazio and Juve to Draw. Napoli to win. And we need to beat Milan.
Because we desperately need a win over Napoli next week, but we don’t want to allow Juve to get the lead. Juve CANNOT win 7 in a row.
I guess Lazio and Juve drawing would be the best case scenario. We leapfrog Lazio and Juve lose their grip on the title.
We’re actually playing Juve on match day 35, can you imagine? We beat them and that’s what wins Napoli the title. Would be so sweet. Icing on the cake would be Milan getting liquidated and sent to like Serie C (look up what happened to Rangers) due to their shady business deals and finance fiasco.
Against Bilan, Roma did way much worse than what we have done in these two months. We have the chance to win, depends on Spalletti’s wonder decisions.
I prepare myself to feel nothing even if we lose big. I mean, dambro vs Suso, gaglia vs kessie
Gagliardini > Kessie
Weird ratings.Lastvweeks were logical but those are random numbers
Sometimes suneet gives easily and another times too harsh. And not in the right time.
It’s a shame Perisic can’t be unleashed because he has to cover for Dumbo so much, but at least he’s willing to cover. Stop starting Candreva on the wing, it’s obv now he’s lost it and Karamoh should start. Vecino+Gag should not be played together unless we need to defend a lead late, even then I wouldn’t trust them. Brozo or Valero needs to start as one of the CM with Rafinha playing in front of them. Was Eder even on the pitch yesterday? Comical that our 2nd option at ST is Eder, he should be 3rd option at best… And Skriniar is amazing, the way he plays and the ball skills he has would make you think he was a veteran of the game.
Cancelo was our only player to create anything with his crossing, and deserves a higher score- Icardi has been crying out for that kind of service…. and why wasn’t Icardi given at least 15 minutes to regain some match fitness ahead of the derby? The way Spaletti is managing the team at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has decided that he prefers Eder, and leaves Icardi on the bench!!
“Why does this Candreva start? Why does Danilo D’Ambrosio play on the left hand side of defence?”
Every single Interist asks these question week after week. The bald guy is either too blind or too stubborn!
My problem with the referee was that he was too lenient on the tackles on Rafina. The Benevento players were targeting him ad the ref done nothing.
I thought yesterday Rano played well. At least yesterday he deserved more than 5.5
I agree. He did some real important stops and stoped some dangers counterattack’s.
And about the penalty I think it’s a 50/50.. He was running in in Rano and Rano can’t just go up in air..
But D’Ambrosio shouldn’t have a 5 but a 4..
The penalty was not taken, and if it was, we would’ve lost surely and that was partly due to him.
Penalty situation is what was going to stand.. but I guess ppl would understand what I meant..
Changed now
Cancelo on 2 assists and 5.5? xD
Yeah, weird rating. I thought cancelo was one of the best players last night.
But totally agree with dambro. If he didn’t start at right, he shouldn’t start at all.
he plays bad on the first half, but manage to set off that with 2 assists, he deserve 6 or 6.5 not 5.5
Cancelo is the future of Inter (I hope.) Him, Skriniar are future world class players. If Dalbert gets around after a good lond pre-season he´ll be great next season I hope – otherwise Asamoah would be a great addiction and if De Vrij really comes we´ll be very well covered in defense.
Midfield is where we suck big time – Gagliardini is overrated and Vecino needs a quality player to play next to (Rafinha could be the man) and of course we need an attacking midfielder so MUCH. Maybe Pastore could still join us on loan next summer. Perisic must leave, Candreva too, Broso and even Icardi to free up money to invest in Chiesa for right wing and Verdi for left wing and with Karamoh and even Asamoah we´ll be well covered on the wings.
Lautaro Martinez will join instead of Icardi so we only need a back up for him…
If we have a quality left back.. Perisic will back to his old form. No doubt about it.. In the begining of this season.. with the good performance of our left flank, Perisic was unstoppable..
We had Santon for many games where Perisic did well, but Santon sucks, and we even had Dalbert and Naga playing behind him and he still was superb, but now he seems to not care about a thing….. Because of Ambros?? No way!
