Inter midfielder Matias Vecino spoke on a whole array of topics in an interview with Il Giornale, firstly speaking about tomorrow night’s Derby della Madonnina.
“It is crucial for us, we have the possibility to get them back for the defeat in the Coppa Italia. We are strong and if we give the attackers service, we know that they can hurt Milan. I do not how it will end but we want to win. There is more adrenaline and special emotions when you play these games. We also play for our fans and we do not want disappoint them. What will I do if I score the winner? I’ll go crazy, I will run 100 metres.”
The Uruguayan proceeded to discuss the slump Inter endured in recent months.
“We regained consciousness and trust when it is would have been easier to turn our back on the side. It is so hard to get out of it especially when you do not understand why you are in it.
“Spalletti was important [in helping us get out of it]. He has given me so much confidence, he is always one who always pushes you to give your best and go beyond your possibilities.”
Vecino then denied media reports that the Inter dressing room is divided.
“It is normal that there are groups, I speak more with the South Americans as a matter of language but we are very united.”
The 26-year-old concluded the interview by speaking on teammate Mauro Icardi possibly missing the World Cup.
“Someone like him can not be missing and I think that in the end he will go.”
