Inter and Genoa have long been in negotiations over young midfielder Xian Emmers but according to a report from FCInterNews.it a move for the Belgian to the Marassi is no longer on the cards.

Emmers name was brought up in talks between the two clubs when deals for Federico Valietti, Andrei Radu, Eddy Salcedo and Laurens Serpe were all being done earlier this summer but nothing ever came to frution.

The 19-year-old, as per the report, will now either remain with the first team or will find himself loaned out elsewhere closer to the end of the transfer window but all will depend on other incoming and outgoing deals that may take place in the coming days.

Emmers is under contract with the Nerazzurri through to the end of the 2021/2022 season and is regarded as one of the best youth prospects currently at the club. He has made the bench for the first team before but is still yet to play a competitive game for the first team.
