The end to Inter’s transfer window is really heating up regarding the negotiations for Monaco’s Keita Balde but above all for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.

Italian TV channel Sky Sport Italia reports that the Croatian international midfielder has asked Real Madrid permission to not train with the rest of the team whilst his future at the club remains in the balance. According to the report Real Madrid have granted his wish as Modric and Los Merengues President prepare for their face to face encounter which is expected to take place some time between tomorrow and Thursday.

Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that during this meeting Modric will ask the Real President to keep his word and honor the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between the two that the former Spurs midfielder should be allowed to leave whenever he wishes.

Soon the fate of Modric will be known as one of the most dramatic transfer stories of the summer comes to a close.
