Tuttosport have provided an update on the ongoing Luka Modric-Inter transfer saga as the Italian transfer window approaches closure.

It is difficult to imagine that Modric will revolt and not board the plane to Estonia for the UEFA Super Cup but something not so difficult to imagine is that Modric will again call for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to honour the gentleman’s agreement that would allow the Croatian international to leave the club. Perez however has every intention to offer Modric a new and improved contract and bring his salary in line with club captain Sergio Ramos.

The report goes on to state that former loanee Rafinha continues to hope for an Inter return. Should talks with Barcelona take place, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio should be able to negotiate better terms with the Blaugrana over the Brazilian due in part to the lack of other offers to have arrived.
