Real Betis and Barcelona are expected to hold further talks over Rafinha in a bid to iron out the details and exact transfer formula to be used according to a report from Spanish newspaper Marca.
According to the report, the Seville based club are looking to acquire the Brazilian on a ‘burdensome’ loan with an option to redeem but Barcelona have, like they did in negotiations with Inter, rejected this formula and would rather it be an obligation or even an outright sale.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Inter, has already agreed to terms with Los Verdiblancos over a move that will see him re-united with former Barcelona teammates Marc Barta and Cristian Tello.
The fact he has agreed terms and Barcelona are well aware that he will not be a protagonist in their midfield should help talks along between the two clubs.
