Inter and Mauro Icardi have reached an agreement over a new and improved contract according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The renewal seems all but done and in September, or at the very latest October, things will be formalised between the parties to ensure an even longer future with one another. His current contract, signed back in 2016, has him tied to the club until the end of the 2020/21 season and other reports on the renewal have suggested he could sign on for a further season or even two.
Icardi joined the Nerazzurri back in 2013 from Sampdoria and the Rome based newspaper have looked at Icardi’s exceptional goal scoring record since joining, especially at the San Siro. In 160 Serie A games for the Nerazzurri, the Argentine international has scored an impressive 100 goals. 80 of his 100 Serie A goals while with Inter have in fact come while playing on home soil at the Meazza.
