Today marks 23 years since Inter legend Javier Zanetti made his debut in Nerazzurri following a move from Banfield in his native Argentina.

Zanetti debuted in a Serie A affair with Vicenza at the San Siro, a game which Inter ran out 1-0 victors with thanks to a goal from Roberto Carlos.

Zanetti went on to spend 19 years on the books at Inter and make a club record 858 appearances all while winning no less than 16 trophies and captained Inter to the famous triplete. Since hanging up his boots at the end of the 2013/14 season, the Argentine has held the position of vice-president at the club.
