Inter manager Luciano Spalletti reflected on Inter’s victory away to PSV Eindhoven that saw his side come from behind to pick up their second win in the Champions League this season.

“They’re a very physical side and they have good headers of the ball, we aimed to pick our moments when we had to sit back and tighten up, and then choose when it was time to press.”

Spalletti then spoke on certain individuals and was particularly complimentary about Inter’s first goalscorer Radja Nainggolan.

“I offer my congratulations to Nainggolan because I’ve seen that he’s back up at a level that he can maintain with the right intensity. Politano also had a good game. At points, we made mistakes in our management of the ball and we dropped too deep which created space for their wingers. When we were higher up the pitch, we were able to control the ball and the match, we still have room to improve.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on club captain Mauro Icardi’s performance.

“Mauro has very precise characteristics. He has no weaknesses when it comes to finishing, he’s perfect. In the penalty box he is an animal. However, at times perhaps he needs to come back more to help get us out of difficult situations as he did at the end of the match.”
