Referee Milorad Mazic was right in only giving Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic a yellow card for his handball outside the box in the win over PSV Eindhoven last night according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

“Bergwijn counterattacked and the goalkeeper came desperately out of his box and touched the ball with his left hand. The touch is clear, no doubt about it, but the position of said touch is quite far from the goal. While it is true that Bergwijn could have got the ball back and went in on goal, the distance and the recovery of a particular Nerazzurri defender led Mazic to opt only for yellow.”

The Rome based newspaper also took a look at Mauro Icardi’s involvement in both goals.

It was a trademark Icardi goal for Inter’s second. As Vecino played the long ball he was kept on side by Schwabb and Viergever but Maurito was about half a foot offside when Asamoah took the shot that would eventually be put in by Nainggolan.

They then looked at some bookings that were missed by Mazic.

“Matteo Politano should have been booked for a challenge on Lozano. PSV’s Angelino, hit the ball off Politano and he could have seen red for it.”
