It is not easy to envisage the Luka Modric idea coming back alive for Inter according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Real Madrid’s complaint to FIFA about how Inter allegedly courted the Croatian over the summer has damaged the relationship between the two sides but nevertheless Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is monitoring the situation.

The 33-year-old’s will could play a huge part in negotiations taking off again. Other reports doing the rounds in the media have suggested he is currently at war with Los Blancos manager Julen Lopetegui and that his poor form this season can be attributed to the fact he perhaps has another move on his mind.

The report from the Rome based newspaper meanwhile also reports that Ausilio has Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong on his mind. The young Dutch midfielder is valued at around €50 million and has interest from Barcelona on top of Inter’s interest.
