Further contact has been made from Inter toward Giuseppe Marotta regarding taking up a directorial role at the club according to a report from Tuttosport.

In past weeks there was a shock announcement that Marotta would be leaving his post at Juventus as CEO and soon after it Inter made their initial contact with him through Steven Zhang.

Marotta was struck by the chat he had with Zhang especially when he learned his role at the club would not conflict with any of those already with the club and that he would be enriching the club’s board in other decisive ways.

Inter’s hopes of bringing Marotta have been boosted by the fact the idea of him being a part of Club Italia appears dead the report goes on.

Marotta wishes to remain at a club rather than work on the national team stage. He listened to a proposal from Gabriele Gravina but Marotta simply thanked him for the offer and it does not look like it will go any further than that.
