Inter had an amazing night at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night when they brushed off city rivals AC Milan thanks to a late winner from Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi.

During the post match interviews, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti expressed his satisfaction of winning but stated also his concern of the many lost balls from Inter during the game. Now the statistics from the match support what Spalletti had to say after the game.

In total Inter wasted as much as 51 passes compared to 41 passing errors made by their cross town rivals. On an individual level, two midfielders were the worst, Marcelo Brozovic and Borja Valero, both missed 9 passes, after them came the two offensive wingers, Ivan Perisic and Matteo Politano with 8 wasted passes.

In the Brozovic case however, the Croatian compensated his 9 dropped balls by recovering 8 balls during the match. What is startling about the fact that Borja Valero had as many as 9 lost balls is that he only was on the pitch for 60 minutes since he came on in the first half due to an injury on Radja Nainggolan.
