At an Adidas event in one of the sportswear brand’s flagship store in Milan, Juventus manager Max Allegri spoke of a need for his side to raise the bar further with clubs now bridging the gap with them.

“The team is doing very well and the history of Juve speaks clear: in the last seven years, there have been seven Serie A titles and two Champions League Finals. Maintaining that level is increasingly difficult. If we want to raise the bar even more, there’s only one thing to do: win the Champions League,” he told the gathered media.

Allegri proceeded to praise Inter who after Monday night’s result leapfrogged Napoli and went in to second place on goal difference.

“I believe that Inter are made to fight it out with Napoli and Juve for the Scudetto. They lost at home to Parma, but were unlucky that day.

“Luciano Spalletti has a lot of experience and brought Inter back into the Champions League. We should have great respect for Inter and Napoli, as Carlo Ancelotti continues to get results with them.”
