Pierpaolo Marino has praised Inter midfield maestro Marcelo Brozovic but insists that there is still room for him to improve in terms of improving his understanding with Radja Nainggolan.

“He has the unconditional support from the coach. He and Nainggolan have not yet amalgamated well in the Inter midfield but the situation can improve. Brozovic makes things better for Inter when he has the team in his hands,” he said in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

Marino also heaped praise upon Inter club captain Mauro Icardi.

“He is among the best players in the penalty box and is still relatively young. He among the top five strikers in the world.”

Marino, who is a former sporting director, then spoke on Inter’s transfer market ambitions.

“Luka Modric remains an impossible goal for Inter, the alternative is Nicolo Barella.”

He concluded the interview by revealing there were talks between Inter and Napoli over Ezequiel Lavezzi.

“Between Inter and Naples there was a negotiation for Lavezzi after my departure from Napoli at the end of 2009, but PSG came in and paid the €50 million Napoli were looking for.”
