Luciano Spalletti spoke on the sidelines of the Panchina d’Oro award ceremony to broadcaster Sky Sport and reflected upon Inter’s loss to Atalanta yesterday, first discussing the jeers heard at the end of the game.

“It depends on who those noises come from…Those in the Nerazzurri are disappointed, because after this row of victories we had accustomed our fans to a different kind of behaviour. This game shows that blackouts are less but not disappeared; we must commit ourselves and put our soul in to things.

“The analysis of the performance starts from me and if I have done my job correctly, I see that I made some wrong choices, the result of the game shows this. The mental and physical energy used on Tuesday against Barcelona could have weighed on our performance.”

He then spoke on the growth he has witnessed in his side.

“The comparison from where we started and what we are doing now has a real value to it. We will try to improve in order to give the fans a team with a well defined character. We are far away from Juventus and have done little to bridge that gap.”
