Matteo Politano and Roberto Gagliardini look set to begin Italy’s match with Portugal this weekend in the UEFA Nations League at San Siro from the bench according to a report from Rai Sport.

Gagliardini finds himself behind Jorginho, Nicolo Barella and Marco Verratti, who are expected to all start while there is no room for Politano in the front three which will be comprised of Lorenzo Insigne, Ciro Immobile and Federico Chiesa.

Politano and Gagliardini are not the only Inter players seemingly resigned to a place on the bench that are involved in the game.

Inter midfielder Joao Mario, as per a report from Portugese news outlet RTP, is also expected to be on the bench for the match which is each side’s penultimate in this UEFA Nations League campaign. Former Inter player Joao Cancelo is however more than likely going to start in the defence that will be missing former Real Madrid and current Besiktas centre back Pepe.
