This season Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has seemingly solved Inter’s previous dependency on the goals of Mauro Icardi as evidenced by the multitude of different goalscorers that the Nerazzurri have had, a report from Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport details.
Domestically speaking, Inter have had 12 different goalscorers and when Champions League is brought in to the equation, that total rises to 13.
Whether this is just simply an accident that Spalletti has solved this ‘issue’ or there is a tactical reason behind this, either way it is good that Inter can now give Icardi a rest without fear of being able to score.
Just like this season, after the first 13 matches in Serie A last season, Inter had scored 25 goals but the dependency on Icardi has not stayed the same and has instead decreased by almost 50% this season. Last season, 13 of the 25 goals scored belonged to him compared to seven this season.
