Having started on the bench once again in last night’s Champions League loss to Tottenham Hotspur, Inter centre back Miranda has spoken on the reduction in playing time he has seen this season.

“It is logical that a player of my level would always want to play. As I have said though, I am here to help the team. I want to do my best and take advantage of the minutes available to me,” he revealed in an interview with ESPN.

The veteran Brazilian, who has recently put pen-to-paper on a new one year contract with the club, has made a total of nine appearances across the season in all competitions. Due to the arrival of Stefan de Vrij at the Nerazzurri in the summer, he has saw himself increasingly starting matches from the bench, nine times to be precise – with last night’s substitute appearance being his only substitute appearance.
