Lautaro Martinez was involved in a car accident in the afternoon according to a report from Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Argentine is unharmed from the incident which occurred on Piazza Buonarroti while a 36-year-old female cyclist is being treated in hospital for injuries she sustained and it is understood that the injuries she sustained are not of a serious nature. Police are currently examining the incident to ascertain how it all occurred.

The 21-year-old striker joined the Nerazzurri to much fanfare from Racing Club in his native Argentina but has struggled to find consistent game time in his debut season with the club. He has found himself forced to playing second fiddle to Mauro Icardi and therefore is not granted opportunities to play as a starter all that often. All in all, he has made nine appearances across all competitions for a total of 380 minutes where he has scored twice and grabbed one assist.
