Luciano Spalletti spoke with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League encounter with PSV Eindhoven.

“Tomorrow is the next step for us and is more important than the match against Lazio at the end of last season. It is worth a lot for Inter and the careers of both myself and the players. We are aware of the importance of this match and I am convinced that we will show the right behaviour.

“I think it’s would be a mistake if we were to underestimate them. They were in the third pot while we we’re in the fourth. Even if they are going to finish fourth regardless, they will not want to suffer another defeat. Their players will want to do well for their fans.”

He then proceeded to speak on the controversy surrounding Mauro Icardi attending the Copa Libertadores final last night.

“I do not see what the problem is. He has done nothing to affect his performance and has not created a problem. He went to see the match, something he feels part of due to his nationality.”

He then concluded by speaking on the conditions of injured duo Matias Vecino and Radja Nainggolan.

“At the end of training, Vecino felt some discomfort in his quadriceps. It did not seem to matter, then we went to get it checked because there is a risk of worsening the problem. I’ll try to force the participation of Nainggolan but we have a bench of starters. We have more than one solution. Kwadwo Asamoah is one.”
