As he left Inter headquarters, new chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta spoke with the gathered media at the entrance.
“It is a day of great pride for me and I thank the shareholders and the Zhang family who have given me the chance to start a new chapter. Suning’s great determination and their desire for victory and the trust in management struck me most and it is up to us to repay this trust. I am here to make my contribution to reach important objectives.
Marotta then spoke on Inter manager Luciano Spalletti.
“Spalletti is an excellent Coach. He needs to work calmly and it’s up to us to support him in all his activities. It’s not easy to get the results Inter want to achieve, but our obligation is to target important objectives. He must work very calmly because the club is at his disposal.”
He then discussed how Inter can look to reduce the gap with Juventus.
“The gap can be reduced by not making claims that are not concrete but rather trying to have a culture of work accompanied by a sense of belonging to this club, through which we can find satisfaction, with the support of the fans.”
