Stefan de Vrij has spoken on how his feelings have changed when it comes to playing at San Siro following his summer arrival at Inter on a free transfer.

“When you came to San Siro as an opponent it was almost like an episode of Westworld , really. There was always fog, when you arrived in front of this impressive stadium, full of history,” he said in an interview with Inter’s official matchday programme.

“Before I was afraid but today as an Inter player I feel a crazy charge. I feel proud and privileged to be playing in these colours. My goal is simple…to honour this shirt. I know that if we do this, this is the best place to play football,” he continued.

The Dutchman also discussed some of his hobbies and what he likes to get up to off the pitch.

“I try to answer the fans on social media and interact with them. I like to share a little about myself without exaggerating. So many fans write to me and I really enjoy it. In my free time I read books. The last one I read was the book of Anthony Robbins, a life coach. My favourite movie is The Wings of Freedom, while I loved the Westworld series as it has a plot which you have to continuously think about.”
