Inter have one of the best defences in Italy but there is room for improvement if they wish to become one of the best in Europe according to Corriere dello Sport.

Milan Skriniar surprised everyone with his performances in his debut season and has further confirmed his qualities during this season. He is now considered one of the best defenders on the planet and part of his ongoing improvement can be credited to partner Stefan de Vrij.

Inter landed de Vrij on a free transfer once his deal with Lazio expired and the pair have formed a formidable partnership albeit to the disadvantage of Miranda who has seen limited play-time and now wishes to move on.

Inter also signed left back Kwadwo Asamoah on a free transfer and he has been among the most consistent performers since his Summer arrival aside from his two errors in games against Juventus and PSV Eindhoven.

Right back Sime Vrsaljko still has to make his mark having now seemingly completely overcome the physical problems that blighted his early days in Nerazzurri. Danilo D’Ambrosio remains a good alternative to the Croat and is also capable of playing as a centre back in a back three.

The only real flaw of the defence this season has been the inability to record a clean sheet in European competition, something they have been able to achieve very often in league play. However, with the Europa League on the horizon, the Inter defence will have another chance to prove themselves continentally.
