Jiangsu Suning head coach Cosmin Olaroiu has dismissed talk linking the club with a move for Inter winger Antonio Candreva.

Candreva has played just 418 minutes of football for the Nerazzurri this season and was an unused substitute for each of their last six matches in Serie A, sparking rumours he could opt to leave in January.

However Jiangsu boss Olaroiu today downplayed talk of a swap deal between the Italian and winger Alex Teixeira – which in any case would be impossible for Inter in January, considering they have no non-EU spots left in their squad.

“I don’t think that’s something on the agenda at the moment,” he told Telekom Sport.

Olaroiu replaced Fabio Capello at the Chinese Super League club in March and praised owners Suning for their ambition and organisaiton.

“They’re a very big company,” he continued.

“The last time I spoke to the president [Zhang Jindong] he told me he wanted to compete for the title with Jiangsu within three years.

“Suning’s policy is about making one step at a time. They don’t want to run before they can walk.”

Olaroiu also had kind words for fellow Romanian Christian Chivu, who joined Inter’s youth system in the summer as an under-14 coach.

“I spoke with the president and he’s always talking about him.

“He was a great player and he’s very well appreciated at Inter.

“When Eder signed for us [in the summer] he told me Suning care deeply about everyone who’s helped write Inter’s history.”
