Sky Sports (UK) journalist Roger Clarke has brought an update on negotiations between Inter and Arsenal over Ivan Perisic.
The 29-year-old Croatian has expressed a desire to move on from Inter – as confirmed by Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta – and is understood to be of interest to the Gunners.
“Reports were that Arsenal put in a bid to take him on loan with an option to buy,” he told Sky Sports News.
“That was turned down. Perisic has put in a transfer request and Inter Milan have said they’re acknowledging that transfer request. They want to do what’s best for the player but also themselves.
“They’re saying there hasn’t actually been a concrete offer but the suggestion is they’re only willing to listen to a permanent deal.
“We know that Unai Emery has told us already that Arsenal aren’t in a position to make any permanent signings during this transfer window, only loan deals.
“So when we speak to him we’ll be asking do they still maintain that interest in Ivan Perisic and likewise Denis Suarez at Barcelona, another they were hoping of taking on loan.
