Finishing fourth in the league will not be enough to see Luciano Spalletti keep his job as Inter manager past this season, at least according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter curry sit in third in the Serie A table and have a five point gap on fourth placed Milan and six points ahead of fifth placed Lazio.
In addition to finishing at least third, Spalletti must also go far in the cup competitions Inter are involved in. Inter are currently competing in the Coppa Italia – where they are just two rounds away from reaching the final – and the Europa League, a competition they are currently in the round of 16.
Rumours about possible successors have began to circulate and the Milan based newspaper have named former Italy and Juventus manager Antonio Conte and former Inter manager Jose Mourinho as possibilities.
Conte has been without a job since the Summer having been sacked by Chelsea while Mourinho recently left his post at Manchester United.
