During last night’s 4-0 rout over Rapid Vienna, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti was able to give Matteo Politano a chance to impress in the false nine role.

As evidenced by his goal, the Italian, who is traditionally a winger, showed he is more than capable of filling in there when required, at least Tuttosport believe so.

This will come as a big boost to Luciano Spalletti and may lift some of the pressure on Lautaro Martinez’s shoulders with him currently being the only fully-fit striker in the first team.

Mystery continues to surround Mauro Icardi and when he will make a return to first team action after weeks of very public tension with the club.

In addition to Icardi, Spalletti has also had to contend with the absence of Keita Balde, who is another player capable of filling in up top.

The Senegalese picked up a training injury last month but is still a few weeks away from making a complete recovery.
