Sneijder has now made his first statement since he officially became a Galatasaray player earlier this evening. In an interview with the Turkish club’s official TV channel the Dutchman talked about his thoughts about the move: “I am literally dreaming. I feel good, I have to learn Turkish… I look forward to coming to Turkey to give my best. I have learned that you have high expectations of me, I know that the Turkish fans are fantastic. I can’t wait to play, to come to Istanbul, to meet the fans. I’m ecstatic, enthusiastic. I know a lot about this club, about Fatih Terim, he has done a fantastic job everywhere and especially with the Turkish national team. I l can’t wait to meet him.”
“My message? I will make Galatasaray proud that they got me. I really can’t wait to meet these fans. We will experience great years together. I will arrive to Istanbul tomorrow afternoon. Teammates? I know wh the teammates are. I know some of them already because I have met them with the national team and other clubs. We have a strong and well-equipped team. I’ll see you soon.”
