Milan Skriniar will play tonight’s Europa League round of 16 second leg match with Eintracht Frankfurt in midfield rather than in defence, according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Skriniar is no stranger to playing in midfield and regularly does so for the Slovakian national team. and due to a lengthy list of absences, Luciano Spalletti intends to utilise the Slovakian in the midfield two alongside Matias Vecino.
With Skriniar advancing into midfield, Andrea Ranocchia will come in to the defence and partner Stefan de Vrij at the heart of it.
Moreover, with no recognised striker available due to Mauro Icardi’s continued self-imposed absence and Lautaro Martinez’s suspension, Spalletti will task Matteo Politano with leading the Inter line.
The Milan based newspaper also report that Marcelo Brozovic will only be used in case of emergency.
Inter Predicted Line-up (4-2-3-1): Samir Handanovic; Cedric Soares, Stefan de Vrij, Andrea Ranocchia, Danilo D’Ambrosio; Matias Vecino, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Borja Valero, Ivan Perisic; Matteo Politano.
