Ivan Perisic and Keita Balde are battling it out to start at left wing for Inter in tonight’s Europa League round of 16 second leg affair with German side Eintracht Frankfurt according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The Croatian is slightly ahead of his Senegalese teammate at the moment, largely down to the fact Keita Balde has been out of action for a considerable time.
The Rome based newspaper state that left wing is the only position which Inter boss Luciano Spalletti needs to make a decision about and already has the rest of the team sorted in his head.
There will be a few changes to the starting line-up that started in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over SPAL, some of which are enforced changes.
Due to injuries in the midfield, Milan Skriniar will advance from centre back and will partner Matias Vecino in the midfield, with the Uruguayan replacing Roberto Gagliardini, who is ineligible to play.
Andrea Ranocchia will meanwhile come in to replace Skriniar at centre back while Danilo D’Ambrosio will come in for Dalbert, who, like Gagliardini, is ineligible due to not being on the UEFA squad list.
With no recognised striker available, right winger Matteo Politano will be deployed as a striker and Antonio Candreva will fill the gap he leaves on the wing.
Inter predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Samir Handanovic; Cedric Soares, Stefan de Vrij, Andrea Ranocchia, Danilo D’Ambrosio; Matias Vecino, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Borja Valero, Ivan Perisic; Matteo Politano.
