Inter president Steven Zhang shared his thoughts and feelings after Inter beat city rivals Milan 3-2 on Sunday night in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.
“The derby is always a special match. I want to congratulate everyone involved,” he began.
“We knew it was difficult and with us playing on Thursday we were not in the most ideal condition yet we fought and always tried to win and the victory is something we deserved.
He then went on to praise Inter manager Luciano Spalletti.
“Spalletti has trained the boys very well, otherwise it would not be possible to play like this after 48 hours. Spalletti has exploited the full potential of the team, and the result on the field shows that we have trained well. If what had happened during the week had not happened, an answer like we gave would not have arrived.
Zhang concluded by speaking on the need for positivity at the club.
“Inter is always united. We need to bring positive energy to the team and to the fans, to show that we are positive because things will go well then.
“We always fight until the last minute, in every situation. We must always do this , also showing this desire to fight for those who love sport because this is the meaning of sport.”
