Gazzetta dello Sport have praised referee Marco Guida for the way in which he officiated last night’s Derby Della Madonnina, in which Inter ran out 3-2 victors.
He rightly handed yellow cards to Marcelo Brozovic and Ricardo Rodriguez for their fouls on Hakan Calhanoglu and Matteo Politano respectively.
He rightly waved away Milan’s claims for a penalty after Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio and Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek came together in the box and then had no doubts in rightly awarding Inter a penalty after Sami Castillejo tripped Politano.
At the end of the game Guida was quick to brandish a red card after Milan’s Andrea Conti went right through Inter striker Lautaro Martinez but after VAR he reversed his decision and gave the Italian defender a yellow card instead.
