Milanese clubs Inter and Milan are to battle it out for the signing of Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul this Summer according to a report from Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Argentine appeared all set to join Inter but Milan have now entered the race and are at work on catching-up to their city-rivals, the report suggests.

Inter took the driving seat in the race to sign the versatile attacker due to the good relations that they have with the Udinese-owning Pozzo family. Milan meanwhile have been able to keep Inter in their sights with thanks to a meeting with his representatives scheduled to take place shortly altough the Rossoneri’s move largely is dependent on them qualifying for the Champions League for next season due to their financial situation.

The 24-year-old has been one of few positives in Udinese’s season as he has scored seven goals and tallied four assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
