Inter will be one of the founding members of the new look Champions League that will commence in 2024 according to a report from Spanish news outlet Cadena Cope.

At the recent UEFA and ECA meeting staged two days ago, changes to the current Champions League system were discussed.

One thing that was discussed was turning European football’s top continental competition into a semi-closed system.

It would remain a 32-team competition with but rather than eight groups of four, it would be four groups of eight and rather than six games in the group stage, it would be 14 instead.

Games in the new look Champions League will take place on weekends instead and there will be 16 founding members.

Inter aside, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, Milan, Juventus, Olympique Lyon, Bayern Munich, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool would all be involved in the competition that could have a €900 million television rights deal.
