Luciano Spalletti has realised that he perhaps overstepped the mark when it came to his recent outburst to do with Mauro Icardi according to a report from Corriere della Sera.
Spalletti very candidly spoke on the Argentine following Inter’s 1-0 loss to Lazio on Sunday, a game which Spalletti decided against calling Icardi up for.
The Nerazzurri boss, who has been at the helm since Summer 2017, sensed that the club management and club president Steven Zhang were annoyed at the way in which he spoke especially after all the work carried out by chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta to try and remedy the situation with the 26-year-old.
Following his outburst, neither Icardi nor his typically outspoken wife, and agent, Wanda Nara took to social media to say anything, as they have done in the past. As per the Milan based newspaper, this attitude from the striker and his representative is something that Spalletti greatly appreciated.
