Respected Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has reflected on Inter’s goalless draw with Atalanta last night as part of his weekly column for Corriere della Sera.

“Inter is in third place, their best result for years and years but why does it still seem like they need to rebuild from scratch?,” he pondered to begin with.

“Inter has great players but not many who are better than the average. The best of them lack continuity and others are capricious. Today in our league quality no longer makes a real difference. Behind the first two teams, all the teams seem unable to keep a rhythm.”
