Borja Valero’s injury may not be as serious as first feared according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The veteran Spanish midfielder was forced off the field due to picking up a thigh injury in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Frosinone.

After the match, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti suggested that the injury looked bad and while he will almost certainly be unavailable for this weekend’s match at home to Roma, a decision will be taken today as to whether Inter feel he needs any testing, the report goes on.

If the club decide against testing his condition it is certainly a good sign for him and the team, who are already having to do without Marcelo Brozovic due to injury.

On the basis that Borja Valero will be missing, it is growing increasingly likely that Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino will form the midfield two. Alternatively, it could be Joao Mario who partners Vecino.
