As part of the official match-day programme for tonight’s match between Inter and Chievo Verona, former Inter player Juan Sebastian Veron was interviewed.
“I was born a football player and I never thought of doing anything else in my life for a second,” he began.
“At 44-years-old now I can say that the desire to take to the field has never left me and when I think of my career, I am very proud to have played for a great team like Inter.
“I was able to share my passion, ambition and desire to win with a unique club.
He then went on to discuss his memories of his time with the club.
“All the goals I scored for Inter are very important and have a special place in my heart, but if I had to choose one I would say the one in Turin against Juve that won us the Super Cup.
“I have great memories of that team, from that moment we started to build something great that made history.”
He concluded by recalling his relationship with the Nerazzurri faithful.
“I get chills when I think about it, real chills. I am glad to be remembered how I am, seriously.
“The Inter fans are among the most demanding I have ever met and they appreciated me.
“I was always trying to help the team out both in attack and in defence.”
