Gazzetta dello Sport have heaped praise upon Inter captain and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic for his performance in Inter’s 2-1 victory over Empoli last night.
“He does not score but rather helps Inter with his body, with his hands and with heart,” the report from the Milan based newspaper begins.
“Radja Nainggolan scored in the 81st minute (just like Vecino did a year ago at Lazio) to make it 2-1 but Samir Handanovic, the captain of a season and above all a season finale typical of pazza Inter, ended the season by taking cover behind 99 legendary minutes.
“He made many decisive saves starting with the one in the first half against Caputo and then against Faris but above all the save against Ucan in the 92nd minute, a few seconds after D’Ambrosio cleared off the crossbar.”
⌛ | WE’VE DONE IT!
It was nervy, on-the-edge-of-your-seat stuff, but we’ll be playing Champions League football next season!
